Grenoble Airport group & coach transfers.

Grenoble Alpes-Isère is the closest airport to the Oisans: around 1h50 by coach to Alpe d’Huez and Les 2 Alpes. With ski flights and tour-operator charters through the winter, MoveAlps runs its group transfers with our own coaches and our own drivers, to the Oisans, the Maurienne and the Tarentaise.

Our own fleet at the core. Owned, maintained and driven by our own team. When peak days call for extra capacity, partner coaches are carefully selected and run to our standards, under our dispatch.

About the airport · Grenoble

Grenoble Alpes-Isère: the gateway to the Oisans.

Grenoble Alpes-Isère airport is at Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs, about 40 km north-west of Grenoble. It is the closest airport to the Oisans, around 1h50 to Alpe d’Huez and Les 2 Alpes, and also serves Tarentaise and Maurienne.

Its traffic is mainly winter ski flights, with easyJet, British Airways, Jet2.com, Ryanair and Wizz Air flying in from the UK and Ireland, plus routes from Scandinavia and Eastern Europe and charter flights for tour operators.

The route · Grenoble

From Grenoble to the resorts: the roads we drive.

Oisans, around 1h50. Via Grenoble and up the Romanche valley, then the final climb to Alpe d’Huez, with its 21 hairpin bends, or to Les 2 Alpes.

Maurienne, around 2h30. North-east via the A41 and A43 to Valloire and Val Cenis.

Tarentaise, around 2h45. Via Chambéry and Albertville, then up the Tarentaise valley to Val Thorens, Méribel, Tignes and La Plagne.

Aravis, Mont-Blanc and Portes du Soleil, around 2h30 to 2h50. North via Chambéry and Annecy.

The climb to the Oisans resorts is short but steep, and conditions change fast in winter. Every coach carries snow chains, and our operations team follows road conditions through the day.

Transfer day at Grenoble

Transfer day at Grenoble: straight from the terminal to the coach park.

At Grenoble Alpes-Isère, our coaches wait in the airport coach park (map). Your group leader receives the exact location and instructions before travel, so the group goes straight from baggage reclaim to the coach.

We monitor every flight in real time, so a delay changes the timing, never the transfer. A meet and greet in the arrivals hall can be arranged on request.

Group FAQ

Questions organisers ask about Grenoble.

Where does the coach wait at Grenoble Airport?

In the airport coach park, next to the terminal. Your group leader receives the exact location and pick-up instructions before travel, so the group goes straight from baggage reclaim to the coach.

How long is the transfer from Grenoble to Alpe d’Huez and Les 2 Alpes?

Around 1h50 by coach, via Grenoble and the Romanche valley, then the final mountain climb. It is the shortest airport run to the Oisans.

Is Grenoble a good airport for the Tarentaise?

Yes, when the flights suit your group. Val Thorens, Méribel, Tignes and La Plagne are around 2h45 from Grenoble, about the same as from Lyon. For the shortest Tarentaise transfer, Chambéry is around 1h45.

Do you handle tour-operator charter flights at Grenoble?

Yes. We plan coach sizes, rotations and timings around each charter’s schedule, with one operations team running the whole changeover day.

What happens if a flight is delayed?

We track every flight in real time and move the transfer to your group’s actual arrival time. A delay changes the timing, not the service: the transfer you booked still runs.
