Airport transfers · Chambéry CMF

Chambéry Airport group & coach transfers.

Chambéry is the closest airport to the Tarentaise: around 1h45 by coach to Val Thorens, Méribel, Tignes and La Plagne. Its winter traffic is concentrated on Saturday ski flights, and MoveAlps runs those changeovers with our own coaches and our own drivers, for tour operators, school groups and events.

Our own fleet at the core. Owned, maintained and driven by our own team. When peak days call for extra capacity, partner coaches are carefully selected and run to our standards, under our dispatch.

About the airport · Chambéry

Chambéry: the closest airport to Tarentaise.

Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc airport sits on the shore of Lac du Bourget, 8 km north of Chambéry. It is the nearest airport to the Tarentaise valley, around 1h45 by coach to the 3 Vallées and Paradiski.

It is above all a winter airport: most of its traffic lands on Saturdays between December and April, mainly from the UK, with British Airways, Jet2.com and TUI flying in from London and regional British airports. Those concentrated Saturday peaks are exactly what our coach planning is built for.

The route · Chambéry

From Chambéry to the resorts: the roads we drive.

Tarentaise, around 1h45. Via Chambéry and Albertville, then up the Tarentaise valley to Moûtiers and the resort roads. The shortest airport run to the 3 Vallées and Paradiski.

Maurienne, around 1h45. The A43 runs from Chambéry straight up the Maurienne valley to Valloire and Val Cenis.

Oisans, around 1h50. South via Grenoble for Alpe d’Huez and Les 2 Alpes.

Aravis, Mont-Blanc and Portes du Soleil, around 1h30 to 2h05. North via Annecy.

With most flights landing on the same Saturdays, the roads up to the resorts are busy too. We plan coach departures around the flight schedule and the valley traffic, and every coach carries snow chains.

Transfer day at Chambéry

Transfer day at Chambéry: built for Saturday peaks.

Chambéry is a small airport with a big Saturday. Our coaches wait in the airport coach park, a short walk from the terminal (map), and your group leader receives the exact location and instructions before travel.

We monitor every flight in real time and plan coach rotations around the day’s arrival schedule, so a delay changes the timing, never the transfer. A meet and greet in the arrivals hall can be arranged on request.

Group FAQ

Questions organisers ask about Chambéry.

Where does the coach wait at Chambéry Airport?

In the airport coach park, a short walk from the terminal. Your group leader receives the exact location and pick-up instructions before travel, so the group goes straight from baggage reclaim to the coach.

Why fly into Chambéry for the Tarentaise?

It is the closest airport to the Tarentaise, around 1h45 by coach to Val Thorens, Méribel, Tignes and La Plagne, against around 2h45 from Lyon and 3h00 from Geneva. Less time on the coach means more time in resort on changeover day.

How do you handle Saturday peaks at Chambéry?

Most Chambéry flights land on winter Saturdays, so we plan the whole day around the arrival and departure schedule: coach sizes, rotations and timings are set in advance and adjusted live by our operations team.

Can you transfer from Chambéry to other resort areas?

Yes. The Maurienne is around 1h45, the Oisans around 1h50, and the Aravis around 1h30. Mont-Blanc and the Portes du Soleil are around 2h00.

What happens if a flight is delayed?

We track every flight in real time and move the transfer to your group’s actual arrival time. A delay changes the timing, not the service: the transfer you booked still runs.
